The main reason for my work is to make beautiful things.
The start point begins with the last stage in the process and continues it. The work needs to finish as a place
where ideas have formed and can form from looking at it. If you can see things in a painting and you like them, it has worked.
The technique is often the dominant force behind each composition, which, in itself only has to represent the process successfully. Sometimes an underlying passion in me will carry a single motif to dominance and at others it will be random
.
To find meaning in my work is to recognise elements or identify with the expression of the piece. Although there is life in and surrounding areas of composition, the only relationship they truly have is with my own thoughts.
These works are, in a sense, 'automatic;' disconected from intended motivation, though as such they provide an open screen for the identification and idealisation of the personal perspective.
